Update for Members from the Board of Trustees

Update For Members - 28th March 2021 We hope everyone is keeping safe and well and looking forward to getting back to the club soon. The first sign of things happening to make this a reality this Spring/Summer is the change to the regulations for restrictions of movement in England effective from 29th March. Your Trustees have been working to ensure that we can bring back services to members with effect from this week commencing 29th March.

Members Subs

First things first - we have fielded a number of enquiries about subs for this year recently. We announced earlier this year that we were switching the period for subs from January to December to April to March, so as to coincide with our financial year. We also felt it would be inappropriate to charge fees whilst we were permanently shut in the first three months of this year, and also, to reflect the support of members we have for this year reduced the cost of categories of membership and introduced a new family membership.

?

Therefore, fees are now due from 1 April. Can all members seek to make their subs payment on the following basis;

    Full Playing Member £100
    Family £190 (2Adults + 2 Children (up to the age of 16)
    Student £50
Junior £30 - Up to 18 years old
    Social £25

?

Payments for those who are not paying through their sports section should be made to:

    Ashbrooke Sports Club
    Bank Account RBS
    Sort Code 16-32-36
    Account Number 10122748

?

If anyone can’t pay by bank transfer we will accept cash or a cheque (made out to Ashbrooke Sports Club) placed in an envelope addressed to Anne Page (Treasurer) and left behind the bar or dropped off at the Vista Coffee shop. It is important that no payment is made into the tills over the bar.

?

Other important news:

Licenced premises are permitted to open to serve customers outside on 12th April. We are opening our downstairs outside Patio Bar on 12th April from 12 noon on a first come first served basis (no booking necessary). We will be offering table service with orders taken at numbered tables and we will be taking payment by card, not cash.

?

Many members will know that Diego has relinquished his lease and moved to different premises. With effect from Monday 29th March Vista Coffee Shop will open in its place, run by the club. Initially, it will be open for Takeaway only until the regulations are introduced for inside service, currently estimated at 17th May.

?

Our risk assessments have been upgraded and the necessary precautions for COVID protection will be in place.

?

Much work has taken place during this period of closure as you will witness initially with the café. Further upgrades are underway to the upstairs bar which will be completed ahead of planned internal service recommencing on 17th May.

?

Thanks to the Rugby and Squash sections some significant work has been carried out to the changing rooms, the Squash areas, the Ladies toilets upstairs, the Gents and many of the common parts areas. Work has also been carried out on the various roofed areas of the clubhouse. This all squares the circle for us requiring subs to be paid as quickly as possible now.

?

Our accounts for 2019/20 have now been signed off and a remote AGM will take place soon under the restrictions that are in place.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the club very soon.
