In order to celebrate the ferocious competitor that we lost in Andy Lee, join us on Saturday 22nd June 2019 from 5pm for Northern Squash Club’s fourth annual Andy Lee Memorial Handicap tournament.

The tournament is open to all players, regardless of level and ability.

The tournament will last approximately 3 hours and, depending on number of entries, you will get 4 games each.

Enter the competition online: https://secure.wazygoose.com/Products/21/andy-lee-memorial-tournament-2019

The tournament format will be a handicap event with the players split into even groups. The games will be played first to 15, PAR scoring, sudden death at 14. The winners of each group will be decided by highest number of wins, followed by highest number of points to decide ties. The results of play-offs and a grand final will decide our overall winner.

As ever, I'll provide refreshments and energy-sustaining snacks.

Drinks in the bar afterwards.

Here's a write-up of last year's event:

Andy passed away suddenly in June 2015 at his new home in the Lanzarote. Many of you will have known Andy from the club and played with him. Everyone who competed with in the internal leagues will know him because he ran the leagues so well for so many years. You might also be aware that Andy also served on the Squash Committee for a number of years. You might not know but the Wazygoose booking system and the online league was inspired by a conversation Andy and I had some years ago where Andy told me how much work, blood and tears it took to run the league, and come up with the annual awards using spreadsheets and paper!

So please come along and have some great fun playing in our Summer tournament. It will be a great way to remember Andy and for those of you who didn't know him you'll hear lots of stories from those who did.

Hope to see you there!
