Abigail and Katie
The girls gave an excellent presentation asking for permission to organise a fun doubles tournament. They proposed holding the event on 4th November and following the same format as last year’s very successful “dazzling Doubles” with the new theme of “Disco Doubles”. They have enlisted the help of Derek Collins and will once again be raising money for the Daft as a Brush charity.
Abigail and Katie left the meeting.
Dave North then joined the meeting by phone
Team squash 2017-2018
Clive proposed that female members should be allowed to play on both the Ladies and the Northern teams fielded in the Men’s county leagues. This was agreed unanimously. As the teams are entered as Northern 1, Northern 2 etc., there will be no need to rename the teams.
Lesley proposed that the ladies team players be ranked 1-15 and play as a 1st, 2nd and 3rd team rather than 2 parallel 1st teams as last year. It was recognised that the 2nd team would struggle in the 1st half of the season but that this was a necessary measure. The team captains will be Karen Heron, Lesley Vitty and Michelle Robertson.
A captain’s meeting will be held before the start of the season.
Lesley Vitty and Dave North left the meeting.
Membership renewal continues.
Sarah presented the Safeguarding framework for use in the club, a copy of which will be stored in the reception office. It was agreed that all coaches, captains and committee members should complete a sport specific online safeguarding training programme delivered through Educare.
For inclusion in the next volleys:- Disco Doubles. Safeguarding. New team structures.
Richard reported that all junior courses are full. With regard to the issue of late payment of course fees, he will be instigating a card system whereby a parent who hasn't paid online for a course by a certain date will be given a yellow card and then if they do not pay by the following week will be issued a red card. Failure to pay after this will result in the junior being removed from the course. Clive reported that he had had further discussion the parent of a junior to discuss the club junior coaching pathway. They felt that insufficient guidance was given on tournament entry to improve progress up the national rankings. It was suggested that a junior parent could fulfil this role.

Clive encouraged everyone to check the meeting planner he had e-mailed the previous week.
