Off-peak court usage/database- Clive reported that he had received only 2 replies.
All other matters were dealt with as main agenda items.
Club Championships/Presentation Night Planning
The Club championships will run from 24th April to 29th April with the Presentation Night on 29th April. It was agreed to follow the same format as 2016-with a Men’s A, B and C draw and a Ladies A and B draw. The Racketball competition will be Wednesday night and Doubles competition on Friday.
Derek Collins will act as Tournament Director.
It was agreed that the format of the Presentation Night would be the same as 2016, with informal seating and Gi’s pies. There was a lengthy discussion regarding who to ask to present trophies. It was felt that it should be someone with a link to the club.
Geoff Younger Tournament
The annual over 50s handicap tournament will be held on 18th March. Entries will be taken on a first come first served basis to a maximum of 15 players, with a notice on the club board.
Club Night Review
It was felt that the Club Nights were a success.
Clive reported on issues surrounding payments made by the club for our member’s registration with England Squash. There had been occasions when players had been prevented from competing due to omission of their names from the database. It was felt that only those club members who play in tournaments, club teams, county teams and county championships need to be registered and that the list of names held by England Squash was probably inaccurate and included lapsed members.
The committee also expressed concerns as to the size of the club's contribution to England Squash.
Richard reported on the successful, recent Northern Junior Open which had raised approximately £1000. There were 5 winners and 3 runners up from the club.
Executive/ finance committees
Allan gave a report regarding future arrangements for the Finance Committee during the Treasurer's absence due to work commitments.
